Be sure your sins will find you out
OK, the picture to the left could be a snapshot of what goes on with me after dinner.
I do really well at breakfast and lunch (mostly because I'm at work and bring my lunch and snacks). The real problem doesn't really begin till I'm home.
Dinner normally goes well. It's the time between 8pm and midnight that are the hours you can find me making the "scrounging the refrigerator for something to eat" runs. It might not be so bad if I had more than just a few feet to travel (maybe if I had to run a mile to the refrigerator and a mile back to my easy chair I could justify it.) The worst part I eat out of boredom or frustration ....not because I'm really hungry. If hunger isn't the problem, then eating won't fix it.
I know what to do.....now I just need to do it.
I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. (Ephesians 1:17-19).
Be Persistent! I must ask God to join me in this weight loss journey. Paul doesn't ask for wisdom one time. Paul asks over and over again. So should I. I need to ask God for wisdom, revelation and intervening power to be an integral part of my food choices from now on.
My Morning Prayer: God, I recognize I am made for more than the vicious cycle of being ruled by food. I need to eat to live, not live to eat. So, I keep asking for Your wisdom to know what to eat and Your indwelling power to walk away from things that are not beneficial for me.
Glorious Father: The truth of my identity as a child of God empowers me to believe that living in victory tastes sweeter than any unhealthy delicacy.
So you may know Him better. There is a deeper purpose behind our disciplined commitment. Making this connection- between being made for more and getting to know God better- helps this whole adventure be less about food and exercise and lifestyle choices and more about embracing a chance for deep and wonderful connection with God.
heart enlightened to the hope and power that is available to us. I am made for more that excuses and vicious cycles. I can experience truth. I can choose to stay on the path of hard work and perseverance . I am made for more than this!

I am inspired by your post. I changed my mindset from trying to "lose weight" to simply "releasing the weight," because, psychologically, you tend to want to find something that you have lost. I'm wishing you all the best.

I'm going to give you a little tip about weight. The physical weight that we exert upon the Earth is miniscule when compared to the weight of our presence in another's life. I can go into the calculations but they are not important. Who knew?
