Woo Hoo....finally got it right

Two days in a row that Leslie and I did our walk. Ok, so I'm into small goals. I actually went to sleep earlier last night and got up in time to do my two mile walk with Leslie before we headed out the door to work at the mission.

We had a group of ladies that boxed clothing till about 1 p.m. I actually got my 10,000 steps in and made good choices.

I had a serious talk with Mr. Wonderful. My nature is to be a people pleaser and I've been trying to work around his schedule rather than what is the best for me. It takes me a good 30 minutes to eat a very simple small meal. If I rush it, I get chocked or feel horrible for a good hour after wards. He gulps down a whole meal in 5 minutes or less some times and is out the door to another activity. I can no longer do that.....so I told him maybe that's why God gave us two cars (so he doesn't have to wait on me) . He says he understands but I'm sure he doesn't. So I am totally being selfish from here on out. If I'm late, I'm late and he can go on ahead.

I wrote down all my eating in a food diary, wrote down my exercise routine, got all my vitamins, Calcium and supplements in as well as got all my liquids down. We will see if it has any impact on the scale now.

This is me going to bed before 11pm.

The walking continues....

Just finished a two mile walk with Leslie. She has a new video out now that targets Hips and Thighs. Right in line with my "Lose your behind in 2009" goals. Not only is it broken down into a 2 mile walk but also has 23 minutes of toning with resistant bands included on the video.

This particular video is just Leslie without a class of people behind her. I actually liked it better because it's almost like having a personal trainer one on one.

I'm trying to get in 10,000 steps in each day. I usually don't make it except on the days I walk with Leslie. I really need to be more disciplined and get up earlier so I can get the walk in before we leave for the mission. By the time we get home at night I just want to curl up in my favorite chair and relax.

I also need to drink more. I can't eat and drink at the same time so I forget to drink. I know that sound lame but it is true. Also I don't want to go to the bathroom at the Mission because it is not heated and sitting on a cold commode is really uncomfortable and it takes me a long time to warm up again.

I know I need to make careful choices of what I eat and drink and I need to move more.

Lose Your Behind in 2009

I'm home and I'm ready to get serious about exercise and watching what I eat. I didn't gain any weight over Christmas but I certainly didn't lose any either. I ate pretty much what I wanted .....but definitely not as much!

The Christmas cookies, pies, and goodies have all been consumed and the left over Chocolate has been hidden in the freezer where it is at least out of sight.

I got to thinking the other day that our guest room is only used three or four times a year so we have decided to take the bed down and use it for our exercise equipment. It can be quickly converted back to a bedroom whenever we need it but I am pretty sure we would use the room more if it had the exercise bike, mini trampoline, and DVD player and TV for exercise videos. I can use the dresser to store exercise videos, hand weights, and stretch bands and can walk with Leslie in there minus all the furniture that is in the living room. Mr. Wonderful thinks it's a good idea for now too.

I saw Ricard Simmons on a morning news program while I was in New York. He was on a campaign against childhood obesity. He is 60 years old now and "Lose your behind in 2009" was his slogan. I thought it was a good one to incorporate into my diet plan.

I keep waiting for my behind to fall off but looks like I'll actually have to work to get it to go away. I bought some new exercise videos today for some more variety. One is a Leslie Simmons tape with a two mile walk along with 21 minutes of lower body toning. So here's to having a smaller behind in 2009!
