Just Got back from visiting Mom....

Going to visit Mom is like visiting Disney World. As soon as you enter the "kingdom" you are immediately ushered into sensory over load. Mom loves her family and always kills the "fatted calf" upon news of your immediate arrival. All of your favorite foods mysteriously appears on the table with an apology that if there is something missing she'll gladly get up and fix it for you.

How do graciously refuse a sacrifice of love from your 81 year old mother? Consequently I ate more than I should have and ate more often that I should have and it definitely showed up on the scale this morning.

I could go into a self loathing mode but have decided that I'll just have to go back to writing down what I eat and step up my exercise level. Today at the mission I set a timer and got up and either went out to the gym and packed a couple boxes of clothing, or got up and danced around the medical room while gathering supplies.

I've got my pedometer on today and I'm aiming at 10,000 steps by tonight. I may have to get up and go run around the building a couple of times to reach that goal.

Life is what you make it.

Daisy Dilemma: Do you become 10 years old whenever you are around your mother?

All I can say about your "dilemma" is ... thankfully I don't have to worry about that.

As for Mom's cooking and over-eating? I don't think THIS situation can be avoided! I DO hope that you didn't "hurt" yourself though... that lap-band puts a whole new spin on overeating....

Love you!

Wow - 10,000 steps is a lot.
