Why is there always a worm in the apple?

Ok, I get up this morning......system's check, everything seems to be working. Eat my apple, check my email, take my BP.

My BP is 88/6o and my pulse is 50. What? It's never that low! So I take it again.....this time it's 113/ 68 and my pulse is 60.

Ok, I tell myself, that's more like it. I have a delightful egg beaters omelet and get ready for my Bible Study.

On the way into town.....I start feeling "ishy" again. No real symptoms, just "not right" and feeling light headed. Of course I'm late to class, and have to park in the far parking lot with a pretty good hike to the church. I do the "meet and greet" thing still feeling light headed.

At one point in the meeting I really felt like I might pass out. You know the feeling you get on a roller coaster when the bottom falls out and you get all tingly. I sat down and the feeling passed. I prayed feverently all during Bible Study and felt better but not great.

At 11:30 we leave and I make my way back to the car. I eat my second apple and decide to go grocery shopping. I start feeling better, get the week's groceries, do my errands and put away all the groceries.

I take my BP again....this time it says 122/84 (I breath a sigh of relief) and the day continues . I feel better now. Can't say why this worm in the apple of life is occuring. I have a Dr. appointment on the 12th of September (next Tuesday) so I'm recording all my symptoms and seeing if the good doc can come up with suggestions for this mystery.

My BP medication is time released so I don't know if that has an effect. My BP just now (5P.M. was 148/78) . A friend suggested that maybe I'm not eating enough (even though I am eating every three hours) so now I'm carrying around my bp machine as well as a glucose monitor.

It's amazing to me how finely tuned our bodies are.....as I lose weight I will have to decrease my BP medication too. I did find this little jewel today also.

From the book "Diets Don't Work" Bob Schwartz describes the way thin people think and eat:
  1. They don't eat unless their body is hungry. (hmmm....never occurred to me, I go by the clock on the wall.)
  2. They don't eat unconsciously; they enjoy every bite of what they are eating and they are aware of the effect the food is having on their bodies. (I'm usually doing something else ...on the computer, reading a book, watching TV, totallly unconscious of what I'm eating.)
  3. They stop eating when their bodies are no longer hungry. (What a novel idea!)
  4. They eat exactly what they want- exactly what will satisfy them. (Alright! High Five!)

Daisy Dilemma: I think I can, I think I can, I think I can.....can I?

Quote of the Day: " You win or lose by the way you chose".

Mood: Cautiously optomistic

LOL! Those same 4 hints are given in French Women Don't Get Fat too! Seems to be good advice no matter where it comes from -- and I HAVE taken to heart the part about paying attention to WHAT I eat and only eating food that I REALLY enjoy! In other words, if I buy something (or make a new dish) and take a bite and say eh... this doesn't taste like what I expected -- I'll toss it! No problem! I'm not wasting calories on something that doesn't SATISFY me. (cuz why should I? There's too much out there that DOES satisfy me!)
