10 Foods that make me happy...

10 Foods that make me happy!

1. Birthday cake....I even like the sugar free birthday cake ice cream. I don't eat it any more but if I dream of food , biscuits and birthday cake are always in them.

2. Bananas.....I'm bananas over bananas but I like them on the green side and not overly ripe.

3. Cashew nuts...I love unsalted nuts. They are such a great treat!

4. Orville Redenbacher's Smart Pop Kettle Corn....love the sweet and salty combination for only 100 calories. I can eat pop corn without any problems of choking.

5. Pringles Vanilla Stixs....they kind of taste like vanilla wafers. I can eat crackers and crisp things and these taste good and satisfy my crunch factor.

6. Quaker Mini Delights "Chocolate Mint" rice cakes. ..just enough chocolate to make them yummy and the rice is crunchy (not like eating Styrofoam).

7. Watermelon....Yummmmm. I eat one every week. Whatever will I do this winter?

8. Yoplait light Fat Free yogurt that comes in 28 flavors now. Love White Chocolate Strawberry, Boston Cream Pie, Key Lime Pie, Apple Turnover, Rasberry Cheesecake etc.

9. Wheat Thins Chips....between a chip and a cracker. They are great to eat your tuna fish on since bread is no longer in my diet.

10. York Peppermint Patty (Sugar Free) ...my new tasty treat at only 80 calories. I can have one every day.

Choking is not fun!

Well, I finally figured out that my lap band is working. I found out by having a severe choking sensation this after noon. It eventually passed but I know now that I can't eat flat bread without dire consequences. Anything that forms a soft ball can be hazardous.

I had gotten careless as I haven't had that problem in the six month that I've had the lab band. I need to slow down my eating. Cut things into smaller pieces and chew more thoroughly. I'm a believer!

Did you know that when you are choking you produce a lot of saliva? Just thought you'd like to know so you don't have to experience it for yourself.

Can I get a recount?

Went to see my doctor today in Charlottesville and I was robbed of 4 pounds by their scales. I weighed myself on a balance beam scale before I left and the car ride didn't add four extra pounds.

No one fussed except me, because I did so much better than what I got credit for.....can I get a recount? I weighed on another balance beam scale back at work and weighed the same as I did before leaving. Is the gravitational pull more on the other side of the mountain?

I had more saline added to the lap band so now I have to wait and see if it will help. I do know that I need to push away from the table and exercise some portion control. I tend to see just how much I can eat before really reaching my limit .

I go back in six weeks so I'm trying to see if I can lose at least 10 pounds by then.

Daisy Dilemma: Why am I so hard headed? It's not like I don't know how to diet!
