Hip Hip Hippo-Ray!

Yesterday started out bad and only got continually worse. My Mr. Wonderful is never sick but when he is there is absolutely no one in the world that is sicker.

Yesterday any movement at all would make him nauseated and retching. Mr. Wonderful does not throw up well and this Daisy is highly suggestible....so while he was retching I was actually throwing up just at the thought of him throwing up. (yes, I am a nurse but noise and smells get me every time and it's only gotten worse as I age!)

My friend mompoet actually said it best:
It's possible that Mr. Wonderful getting sick is an indicator that you both finally have time for it. You've had such an eventful and demanding 6 months, culminating in the big container job, his interview and your days away. Does this mean that life is finally settling down, and you now have the luxury to get sick if you need too?
Wow, I never thought of it that way before.....thanks for the "Aha" moment. Our bodies are so finely attuned that when we push them too hard and for too long they shut down. Mr. Wonderful is getting the much needed rest he needs whether he wants to or not.

He is much better today. He slept all night and is still a little dizzy when moving around. He is able to keep food down (so maybe I will be able to also!)

I have therapy this afternoon and I'm sure I'll be fussed at.....it's not like I didn't walk the way to Savannah and back ! (Well, I did to my weigh of thinking!)

Thought for the day: Boy am I enthusiastic!

I may never eat again.....

This is a picture of me and some of my peers! All a little bigger and grayer than we were last week!

I was keeping a diet diary and listing all the calories and food I consumed but I couldn't count that high! (and I got nauseated just listing them!)

I think I am finally talked out and may never eat again.....Tomorrow is the Monday that I start doing damage control!

I'm not looking forward to facing the scales!

What I learned today

1. If you do enough " dreading" in advance of an event, no matter what goes wrong you won't be surprised!

2. A column of numbers in pounds never converts to kilo's the way you think it should.....no matter how many calculators you use.

3. The "domino effect" is very dramatic in an overly stacked warehouse.

4. Being pulled away from a job, always makes it harder to jump right back into it.

5. Today is Thanksgiving Day in Canada.....(I was thankful when the day ended today!)

6. I admire people who can crunch numbers together and get them to come out right!

7. I get TBI (tiny bit irritated ) at co-workers who think out loud when I am involved in another project and trying to concentrate.

8. No matter how long I've been married to Mr. Wonderful I still need him to use words to convey what he wants me to do, ( I can't read his thoughts which is probably a good thing today!)

9. A bad attitude seldom gets better when stressed and overly tired.

10. Columbus wasn't the only person who made a discovery today.....I discovered a pink plastic flamingo bud vase on my desk this morning!

11. Melli thinks "the dreads" refers to my new hairdo.

12. Question: What do dreadlocks and pink plastic flamingo's have in common? Answer: They both get repeated in the morning!

13. A day hemmed in prayer is less likely to come unraveled.

Watch me work!

After a long heart to heart talk with Mr. Wonderful it has been decided that I can go to Savannah on Saturday. In order to go without a black cloud hanging over my head (guilt goes a long way with me) I need to try to get as much of the paper work done on this next container as possible.

That means working every day ......all day at the mission. It mean pre-packing shipping gaylords and doing extensive inventories of each item, including weights of individual pieces.

I'm tired, cranky and overwhelmed at the thought of it right now. So I'm going to pull a Scarlet O'Hara move and "Think about it tomorrow!"

I know I'm being selfish, and I know I will do it.....I just don't have "the want to's" right now!

Primal Screm!

I haven't posted here in a week or more because my life has not been my own lately. Too many commitments and too little time has caused this girl be be too stressed out. Stress is never good and as you might have already guessed I don't deal with it well.

This is usually my screaming place! So excuse me while I do my primal scream.....

AAAAAAAARRRRRR RAGGGHHHHHHHHH HHHHGRRRRAAAAA GGHHHHHHHHHHAIE EEEEERGHHHHHHHH HHHGRAARGHHGHH HHHHKKKKKAAAAA IIIEEEEEEEEEEEEHHH HHHHHHHHGGGGGG HHHHHHHHRRRARRRRRRRRRGHRRRRR AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ahhh. That felt good.

Last week we did a very heavy container (44,100 pounds) for a Bible College in Ethiopia. We are still tired from doing all the physical energy that was required for the task. We are supposed to do another container this weekend for Bolivia.

We have run into some major obstacles so it has been postponed till later in the month. Meanwhile back at the ranch......we are still working this weekend as we scheduled groups to come in and help load the container. We have since found out that this next container will be much more complicated and need even greater detail than we have ever had to do.

The best thing we can do is palletize the 300 monitors and CPU's before hand so we will know the weight, count and can number the lot instead of each individual piece . We have since found out that we will have to do this for every thing that goes in the container as it will be unloaded and stored at the customs warehouse and will be scrutinized for any infraction.

We will have our volunteers bring the monitors and CPU's up from the basement and put them on pallets this weekend. It looks like all the work will have to be done in advance and checked off as it goes into the container.

Mr. Wonderful is strongly hinting that I need to cancel my trip to Savannah.....

AAAAAAAARRRRRR RAGGGHHHHHHHHH HHHHGRRRRAAAAA GGHHHHHHHHHHAIE EEEEERGHHHHHHHH HHHGRAARGHHGHH HHHHKKKKKAAAAA IIIEEEEEEEEEEEEHHH HHHHHHHHGGGGGG HHHHHHHHRRRARRRRRRRRRGHRRRRR AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry about that! That should give you a clue to my reaction!
